Laughing at Politicians to Make Justice: The Moral Component of Humor in Appraising Politicians

A recent line of research in the field humor has proposed existence two morally based comic styles. One them, corrective (or satire), seeks to ridicule and mock establish justice. In contrast, benevolent attempts correct deviances using a friendly manner understanding human imperfections. Considering their focus on correcting what is perceived as wrong, this study we seek examine how these styles can affect evaluation that made politicians after being exposed attacks them. To achieve this, conducted an experiment which three groups had evaluate different stimuli (memes ridiculed images with same content without its humorous content, or no exposure; total n = 160). Our results demonstrate it not influences does so positively; people higher scores have better seeing memes anti-politician content. We discuss possible explanations for finding implications political psychology studies.
